Hand Bound Notebook - Leather Sketchbook - Writing Journal

Hand Bound Leather Sketchbook ideal for both the professional or the hobbyist artist or writer.

Filled with quality sketch paper, suitable for graphite, charcoal, ink, or other dryer mediums.

Book measures 6" x 9", thickness will vary with page count.

The Coptic binding process is one of the earliest forms of book binding with our earliest examples dating back to the 11th century. While other binding methods have overtaken this traditional style it is only because this method can only be done by hand. It is slow and cannot be automated by machines. Despite this, or perhaps in spite of it, this is still a favorite method of craftsmen such as myself because of its practical benefits.

Because the book has no traditional spine it will lie perfectly flat for more comfortable writing and drawing.

Most books fail when the glue does. There is no glue here to fail with heat or travel. The sewn binding is sturdy yet flexible and not sensitive to humidity or heat as modern books are.

Once the pages have been used up the notebook can be sent back for refilling.
